Tidy Tip #2: Perform a nightly straighten up.
Before bedtime, straighten up the house. Set a timer for ten minutes, and enlist the help of your family. Pick up toys, sweep the floor, load the dishwasher, wipe down counters, clear away the day’s clutter. Make it a challenge to see how much you can accomplish before the alarm sounds.
Listen, I know you’re tired at the end of the day, but this habit is so worth the extra few minutes. I’m a firm believer in the nightly “straighten up.” It works. The mess stays under control, and you start tomorrow on the right foot. I must admit, I’ll never be a morning person, but it definitely helps to wake up to a tidy house.
